Vintage Heartfelt Designs - Jenn's Birthday Celebration

Today Vintage Heartfelt Design Blog is celebrating Jenn's Birthday with other designers in a hop. So if you stop by today to see what I am up to I would encourage you to visit Vintage Heartfelt Design Blog to get all of the details on how to participate in the hop. I am sure you will get a lot of ideas on projects, maybe some tutorials and of course I am hearing there is some blog candy along the way.
I made my card using a black card, Graphic 45 Botanicabella and Domestic Goddess papers and tags.
I wanted to show you a closer look at the tag. I distressed it with my Tim Holtz distress tool, layered it on black card stock, placed it on pop dots, and added some sheer burgundy ribbon to the tag that I placed on my card. I also added a Kaisercraft Happy Birthday Rub On. I hope you enjoyed my project as we continue to celebrate Jenn's birthday.

3rd Generation Layout

My 3rd Generation layout was done for a challenge with Paper Patch Crafts, seems like that is the only way I get any scrapbooking done lately is when I do a sketch challenge. Thank goodness there are several a week online, I think that is why I like surfing through all of the blogs. My layout is made with a couple of pieces of Making Memories Paul Reverie and Bo Bunny papers.

I added some large buttons to help dress up the look of the circles that I placed on my layout.

Love, Love the Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, it is so forgiving if you put it done wrong just lift up on it and redo, it remains sticky so it is easy to repossession.

I did the same here with my flower. I sure hope it looks like a flower. If you would like the sketch go to Paper Patch Crafts to get it, the challenge will be ending on Aug 1st.

Moxie Fab Fanatical About Botanical Challenge

I created a card for the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, I would encourage you to visit Moxie Fab World, you may want to take up the challenge yourself. The deadline is August 8th. I made my card using Lily Bee Designs This and That Paper pak. The flower is made using the McGill Lily punch. I punched the leaves out 8 times, inked the edges with Chestnut Roan Ink and layered them together using Glossy Accent. The center of the flower is a bit of Glossy Accent and some Fine Sage Flower Soft. Once my glue had set for my flower I then placed about my silk white ribbon.

.Here is a closer look at the flower, I added some floral blue berries, small green floral branches and some twigs that I had purchased from my local craft store. I made the charm using Bead Landings Head Pin, red and clear crystal beads and placed them here and there around my flower.

Celebrate Card - Memory Box Pear Sketch

It is hard to believe that in a week I will be taking classes with Dave from Memory Box, oh how I love there stamps. I must say they are one of my very favorites and I can thank or maybe blame my dear friend Christine for introducing them to me but I love her for it. Today I am using two new stamps. The first is the Index Card stamp, I stamped it o a piece of paper from the Minuet 6x6 paper pack from Memory Box. I wrapped it with brown twine, attached it to the front of my card, I added staples from Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher at the top left corner and bottom center. The Pebblees "Celebrate" slide is actually clear so I slide a piece of the paper from the pack inside of it before I glued it to the front of my card.

My second Memory Box stamp is the Pear Sketch Trio which I colored in with my Copic Markers: C1, C3, YR12,G12, G14, G02, ad G05. I distressed the edges and inked them with my Chestnut Roan Ink before I placed it on pop dots. I fussy cut that small, little butterfly as the finally detail ad placed it on my "Celebrate" slide. I hope this inspired you to use your stamps in different ways.

My hat has some Crystal Stickles to give it some glitter and glimmer of snow. I also did some distressing, inked the edges with Chestnut Roan ink and placed it on pop dots.

Here is the inside of my card. I fussy cut my skates, inked the edges and placed it on a pop dot, I also added a little twine bow to the top of the skates.

We give our adult kids and in law kids money every year for Christmas, so I am always looking for a fun money holder. I drew this one out and hope you love the whimsical look as much as I do. I used Imaginisce Cottage Christmas Collection for my Stocking Money Holder.
I added some of the Cottage Christmas Holiday Wishes Chipboard Sticker. I put the "Santa" on the toe and used pop dots under the "Reindeer". I added a few red gemstones to the news and holly.

My stocking has a back to it and a small pocket in the inside that holds the money. I made some charms using clear and red beads. I added a Merry Christmas Chipboard Die to hang off the side, along with a bow made with green twine and added Snow Flowers Merry Flowers.

Brilliant Maple Branch Thank You Card

Thank you it is Friday, it is so hot and steamy here in Memphis. We had some much needed relieve last night with some rain but it will be very humid today I am sure and with that being said we had early morning with roofers next door. They started at 5:15 and Charlie started barking minutes later, so it was early to rise. So I decided to finish a card I started yesterday. I am using my Memory Box Maple Leaf Branch along with the Cocoa Bean Butterfly and the Minuet Paper Pak.

I stamped my Brilliant Maple Branch on the tan polka dot paper from the Memory Box Minuet paper pak using Memento ink, using YR12 and YR68 colored them in. I took my Tim Holtz ruler and did some line work on the paper on thetan polka dot and green paper. Did you notice I triple matted my project, the blue paper is from the same pack;I took the left over blue paper stamped my Cocoa Bean Butterfly, fussy cut it out and using some Distress Crackle Paint went over one of them.

Once it was dried I put my card together, I distressed my sides with Tea Dye Distress ink, Chestnut Roan ink, added my my butterfly by gluing one flat to the card and then just gluing the center of the second that I had added the Distress Rock Candy togive my butterfly dimension. I also added a small trinket to the right of card and a Thank You sticker to the bottom of my card.

Just Because....with Unity

I am entering my Just Because Card that I made in the circle challenge over on the Unity Stamp Blog, the requirement is that there be a circle. I sure hope my sun that is on a pop dot counts. I actually thought I was making it for a previous challenge but when I got it finished the challenge was closed so I thought I would enter it in the new challenge of circles. My paper is from Doodlebug Nifty Notions and Petite Prints, they are so pretty and bright. The unity stamps are from the same stamp kit that I purchased awhile back and colored with my Copic Markers

I placed my sun that I colored like I said on a pop dot and my little flowers I used Glossy Accent into form a circle. I placed my image also on pop dots. I hope you enjoy my card and take the challenge over at the Unity Stamp Blog.

Get Well card

I used the Echo Park Be Mine Collection to make my Get Well Card, is it wonderful to know you can use a love collection to make a beautiful get well card.

I made my Lilies using the McGill Lily, Leaf punch, Blossom Tool Kit and mat to create my beautiful lilies. They are so easy to make but do you notice the droplets on the pedals. I used drops of Glossy Accent to make it look like dew drops, I also did a little inking on each of the petals to give the flower a realistic look.

My quilled flowers are from a circle I punched out using a Marvy Extra Giga Circle Punch, I cut it into a spiral and started on the outside edge rolled it up on the tweezers from the McGill Blossom Tool Kit and adhered it to the front of my card along with my lilies. I added a bit of bling and sticker letters to finish up my card.

Turquoise Thinking of You Cards

Can you believe I am almost up to 500 followers on blogger, would love for you to stop in and help me reach my goal and see how far I can go, I will be doing a giveaway as soon as I go over the 500, so help spread the word.
I made two Thinking of You cards using the new Lily Bee This & That 6 x 6 paper pad. I chose 2 pieces of the turquoise printed paper to place on my A2 and square cards that I made.

On my square card I matted my turquoise pattern papers on a 5 1/4" white square but first I did my stamping and added my American Craft white lace.

I then placed my flower that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist Wheatfield and Moonlight along with Perfect Pearls Turquoise. I also added some gemstones to the center of the flowers.

Here is the inside of the card, I usually add a lighter color card stock to the inside of my card so I will be able to add my sentiment to.

While my Perfect Pearls and Glimmer Mist flower was drying I decided to make a second card. My sewing stitches is from the We R Memory Keepers Easy Sew and brown embroidery floss. I used the Unity Noteworthy Occassion stamp along with the Hero Arts Friends stamp on this card.

Again I added some of the turquoise gemstoes to this card. I hope you have enjoyed my turquoise cards that I have made today and help me spread the word about my goal.

Simplify Hope Card

Today I decided to use a stamp from one of my favorite stamp lines... Memory Box Stamps along with some Websters Page Triple Pak Collection and of course you have to add a little distress ink and Tim Holtz to the mix. LOL
I stamped my image on a piece of the Webster Pages paper, matted it with a checked piece from the collection, colored in my rose buds with Copic R24 and 27 and inked the edges of each piece before I glued them together. I also used my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and stapled each of the corners before I placed the matted piece on pop dots.
I added a Tim Holtz Hang Clip and a Simplify Philosophy Tag along with red and brown twine to the front of my card. This is a side view of my card showing the depth of the card when you use dimension embellishments and pop dots.

Because I have a green card base I decided to do the inside of the card also, it will make it easier to write my sentiment when I am ready to send it out. Notice how I wrapped the red and brown twine around my paper before I glued it to the inside of the card. I made a sweet little bow to also give it more character. I hope you enjoyed your visit today to my blog and would ask you to share it on facebook and your twitter accounts to help me reach my 500 goal. I have a little giveaway when I reach this goal. Enjoy!!!

Stella Rose Papaer Bag Book

Today I am featuring a paper bag book. All you need to make it is 3 paper bags, a pad of the My Minds Eye Stella Rose Hattie Paper Pak and 2 jump rings. Well as we scroll down you will see the products that I used but really you can use anything.
You start your book by taking 3 lunch size bags and fold them in half. Take each bag and reverse each so that the bottom of the bags aren't all on one side. Punch your holes about 1/2" down from the top and up from the bottom. I then inked all of my edges of my bag along with all of my paper pieces that I distressed with the Tim Holtz Distress Tool with Chestnut Roan ink.
My rosette is done with a pair of tweezers and a circle that I tore into a circle. My circle for the largest one was about 3" and tear into a spiral. Start from the outside edge and twist it around your tweezers until you get to the inside center of the circle and glue the to the center. Once the rosette is dry ink the edges with your Chestnut Roan ink.

Here is a little closer look at the the cover of the book. My leaves are teardrop shapes that I randomly drew on my paper, crinkled them up, shaped and inked them and glued them onto the page. The stamped piece is using a Stampers Anonymous Papillion stamp. I also added a few staples to my page to add some more character.

The first and second pages, on the second page I used the EK Success Abstract Edger Punch, on the second page I added a fabulous flower to the bottom edge of the page.
Here is a closer look at the flower. It is two different size circles, distressed with the Tim Holtz Distress Tool, crinkled up, inked and some Glimmer Glaze Fine Glitter Paint placed on it. Once everything was dried I layered the two circles together with a Glue Dot, added a button and placed on my page.

Here is one of three tags that fit into the paper bag. I just added a circle tab and button to make it easier to pull out.

Pages 3 and 4.

Here is a closer look at the stamp sentiment I used, it is from Unity Flirty Flowers Stamp Set, remember you can use any stamp that you would like.

Pages 5 and 6. My punch is the EK Success Swiss Cheese Edger.

Showing you the page insert from page 5 and how I layered all of my distressed pieces.

Pages 7 and 8 I fussy cut around all of the small circles to form a scallop look but when I glued them to my page I only placed my adhesive on three sides that way I will be able to slide my photo under the border when I get ready to place them down.
Again here is another page insert and I added a Tim Holtz paper clip to the tab.

Now a closer look at the three page inserts. I sure hope you have enjoyed my paper bag book and try making one for yourself. They would make perfect gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc. Just enjoy and have fun.
