Throwback Thursday... Tis the Season Holiday Altered Frame

I altered a 14 x 14 frame that I found on a clearance rack for 7.00 dollars back in 2012 and it still one of my favorite home decor pieces that I put out every year
I love snowmen!!!!

I placed a piece of My Minds Eye "All Bright" on the piece of cardboard to begin with.

Stamp a Stampendous Snowman on to computer paper with black ink, enlarged it to 285%.
Trace onto My Minds Eye pattern paper, fussy cut.

I needed at least a hundred (100), YES.. a hundred (100) pine leaves for my project and what better way to do it but to find an image and cut them out with my Cameo.
 Easy Peay as they say.
If you don't have a Cameo, you can purchase a punch from EK Success or maybe find one to use on your die cut machine or Circuit.

I cut the leaves out of two different pieces of pattern green paper, gluing them on the snowman following the traced image lines.
(Make sure to just place at an angle on the bottom of the leave since you want them stand up a bit)

I added a fun piece of paper for his hat along with some gold pinecones I found at Hobby Lobby.
Cut nose from a tree off of a piece of Bo Bunny paper and accordion fold it before placing it on his face.
His coal eyes and buttons are Prima bling.
Don't you love his little lacy collar?
Add Christmas metal to his collars as well as on to the skewer that the snowflake and banner is attached to.

Fussy cut borders from pattern paper.
Add gemstones for the center of the flowers and a twine bow on the bird's hat.

Fussy cut the banner, add to frame.
The snowflake is from Tim Holtz Snowflake Die.
I hope you have favorite projects that you have kept over the years and still decorate with.

Grandma Van Dusen's Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

"Grandma Van Dusens' Peanut Butter Cookies

Christmas is always busy making some of our favorite cookies and candies.
We used to make 10-12 different cookies and 6 or so in candies to be delivered to our neighbors and friends but as the years have passed.
As the years have passed our kids have grown and moved to their own homes in different states so we know longer bake as many cookies as possible.
BUT...
We still always manage to bake Grandma Van Dusen Peanut Butter Cookies which is our families favorite cookie!

 Recipe:
2 1/2 C. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1c. soften margarine
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Jiffy Peanut Butter
2 t. vanilla

*Cream margarine, sugars, eggs, vanilla together
*Add peanut butter
*Stir in dry ingredients
*Roll into balls
*Flatten with fork - HINT: Dip fork in a cup of water will keep fork from sticking to batter
*Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes
*Cool 1 to 2 minutes on cookie sheet to finish cooking.

This recipe is wonderful to make thumbprint cookies using Candy Kisses.

Merry Christmas Phone Stand Memo Center

I created a Comfort and Joy Christmas and Memo Station to share!
I don't know about you, but the holiday season is so hectic.
Doctors' appointments, school events, shopping and so much more!
I find I am a bit more organized if I have a memo book to have near my phone.

Using Eileen's Notebook Die to create my memo pad along with some fun Christmas paper I created a small memo book.
Photo 1. Remove the spiral from a small notebook.
Photo 2: Cut about 3/4" from the top of each page. Clap together and glue at the top of the pages.
Photo 3: Die cut Passport Notebook Die using Matboard, adhere pattern paper to pieces. (Instead of having a sided bind; cut the bind down to fit the width of the top of notebook page cuts; adhere together to have a top flipping book.) Add prepared notebook to inside.
Photo 4: Add Ephemera piece to front of notebook.

Decorate front of prepared notebook with Ephemera.

Die cut phone stand using Sizzix Mat Board.
Add decorative paper. (HINT: Decorate with a neutral type of theme paper so you can remake the notebook and have it through each season.)

Add jute.

Add small Ephemera.

Remember to decorate the back.

I hope you are inspired to get your Sizzix Phone Stand and Passport Notebook Dies to create yourself a Christmas Phone Stand/Memo Station. Enjoy Pam
