Lots of News Today-Published and a new Winner

I randomly saw Ready Set Create Magazine online one night online, after viewing their blog and seen they were having a call for different areas of work, I decided to submit 3 projects in the different categories. Ready Set Create Magazine published all 3 projects that I submitted. How cool is that. I have a card, a layout and an altered Valentine Frame.
I told my friend Christine from Scrapbooking Techniques and suggested she look it to it also and guess what she has a layout in the same issue. The Ready Set Create Magazine is available for purchase online so please check it out.
I made this card awhile back and I think the sentiment is perfect to send to my new friend Anne that participated in the radom giveaway that I did the other day.
Just thought this card was just a fun card to share and hope you like it.
Here is what Anna won, 13 plus yards of ribbon and small plastic bags to store them in. I am sending her a favorite of ribbon so she can start her ribbon storage. Anna was #4 of the 4 entries. Anna said.... Super idea on organizing your ribbon. Congrats to the winner! Well guess what you are the winner!!!! Here is a reminder of how I store my ribbon and you can see more information about it on a previous posting.
Thank you to all that participated in the giveaway and that come and visit my blog.
Make sure to leave a comment and let me know if you are a follower, you never know when I will do a random giveaway.

Valentine with a Seahorse

I made a 5x7 card using Kaisercraft
Fun in the Sun Paper. Love the paper because it is double sided. How easy is that.
I used the Sew Easy, one strand of black and one strand of light blue threaded through my needle and the zig zag head on the Sew Easy Tool. After I got it sewed I than put a sheer ribbon around my sticker Seahorse, added the heart stickers from Pebbles Love Sheet and a sentiment from Mrs. Grossman to my card front. I also added some stitch lines with my Zig marker and just like a fabulous Valentine Card that I was able to enter into the contest over at Paper Patch Crafts. It is still going on til the 7th of Feb, an Amphibian/Marine themed Valentine card.
Supplies:
Kaiserkraft Fun in the Sun: Frizbee
Mrs Grossman Happy Valentine Day
Pebbles: Love Stickers
Sew EasyTool: Zig Zag Stitch head
Sheer Red Ribbon
Black Zig Marker

Hello

I was thinking what could I possible place on my blog today that might be some what different and I found this card that I made a while back. I had it in my card stash, I imagine all card makers have a card stashes.
My card is a two piece card. The card base looks pretty plain until I add this "Belly Band" to go around it. It is just a strip of matching paper that I folded around the card. I made the ends to look like tags and left enough room to put an eyelet on each end. I was able to thread my pretty sheer ribbon through the holes and add my "Hello" tag and then slip it back onto my card. The finally step that I did was to add my metal embellishment. It turned out very cute and is a nice way to keep your card always close.

Organization Tuesday and A Drum Roll.... the Winner is....oh and another surprise....

Ribbon: who does use ribbon in their scrapbooking, card making and paper creations. I know I do, some call me an addict of ribbon amongst many other scrapping collections (that is what I refer to them as collections). I have seen some string their ribbon on their Clip It Up, some using a hanger, some in ribbon cases with holes in it, some with ribbon rings.... all though are generally separated by color. I did try a few of these but when I travel to crops or just travel in general I found that I wasn't very satisfied with them always being in my way.
So I came up with this. I bought a 3" deep Option Container and took cardboard and made rows. Once I break open a ribbon roll I remove it and wind it up on my fingers and place them in small closure bags that I get from Hobby Lobby. I believe they are 100 for 2.99 could even be less. I just know that I love them for lots of things. I then place them in the container according to their color family. I do have a place on one of the outside rows for the ribbon that just doesn't fit quite anywhere. I place my full rolls just on top until I need them but once I open them that cardboard ring is gone.
One nice thing about Option Containers they have latches and don't come open. You ask well what about the wrinkles that occur from having them stored that way. Well I don't have a ribbon iron but I have the next best thing. I have a flat iron that I carry everywhere with me. I just put it on its lowest setting and iron my ribbon. How clever is that. I hope you have enjoyed my thought on a ribbon carrier. They stack, carry easy, I can see what ribbon I need and they are always clean.
I will share with you in the future what I do with my really, really wide ribbon.
Now on to the fun -announcing the winner of the my blog giveaway for all of those that left a comment and became a follower when we celebrated Jess' birthday on the KinderStampO's 34 Birthday Balloons and Counting Blog Hop!!!!

Happy Birthday Sarah

Hard to believe that 27 years ago I was giving birth to you and it seems like yesterday that I brought you home so fragile and small. I am so glad that you have grown into a strong and beautiful woman. I know that there were times that I was concerned with your strength but through the years you have been molded and made into the woman God would have you to be and I am so thankful for this. Today I am going to celebrate you on my blog because I love you and just can't share with you enough how much you mean to me.
As I look at this sentiment I placed on the page I did with you and Annie, I remember just what a miracle you truly were and as we get older always remember that you will continue to grow in love in my heart.
Happy Birthday Sarah and I hope God gives us many, many more years of us celebrating together.

Tomorrow I will Pick A Winner fromKinderStampO's 34 Birthday Candles and Counting Blog Hop

I Just Recieved the "Stylish Blogger Award"!!!!!

I was humble and extremely honored to recieve the "Stylish Blogger Award" from Lisa. I have only had my blog online for a year and a couple of months, so for another blogger to like my stuff is quite humbling. Please make sure to visit Lisa at Lisa Creative Niche I know that she would love to have you stop by.
As a recipient of this award I have to tell 8 things about myself and then pass the award on to eight other blogs that you find very "stylish"!
1. I am an artist: I love scrapbooking but I have several venues that I love to creat in: painting, sewing, I love floral designing, photography and my list can go on and on and on...
2. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I married my high school sweetheart and 37 years later I still look at him an think this is my "sweetheart". I am so thankful that our children can see that in our relationship.
3. I am addicted to chocolate. I love all things chocolate. White, milk, dark it doesn't matter as long as it is chocolate.
4. I love to travel, all I have to be told is we are leaving and I have my toothbrush and camera in hand along with a few of my scrapbooking supplies, which is alot, since we travel in our RV.
5. I have a little yorkie "Charlie", I can't say enough about Charlie, but usually all I say is Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. If you aren't getting it, he is always getting into something and to help him out he has his partner in crime "Gracie" a tabby cat. So now as an empty nester they keep me busy. I must say they enjoy my scrapbooking because if I drop something they take off with it and we spend the day chasing after each other.
6. I love my job but who wouldn't I get to play with paper and stickers everyday, not just at home but also at my job. Yippee!!!
7. I am getting published this year that has been most exciting. I will have a layout in the Spring issue of Scrapbooking and Beyond magazine, please feel free to get a copy. My layout is title "Simple Times". I am also going to have projects in the Ready, Set, Create magazine, it is an online magazine. Would love for you to get a copy of that also.
8. Love pink, actually got a pink blue tooth this evening as a gift from my sweetheart. It matches the sleeve to my I Phone. I have a Pink Cricut Expression that I got for my birthday and I have a black and pink bicycle that super sweet, it has a basket and a cute little bell.
This tells you a little bit about me and oh my closest friends call me Pammejo, it has been a nickname for many, many years now. So if you are visiting my blog feel free to refer to me that way because in the world of blogging we are all friends.
Now I am suppose to select 8 blogs to pass this award on to.... so here are my picks and they are most difficult to choose since I would love to give out more than 8.
1. Heartstrings
2. Scrapbooking Techniques
3. Stinky Dog Designs
4. Mandie's Scrappin'
5. 365 Days of Cricut
6. Paper Patch Crafts
7. Scrapbooking For Fun
8. Fancy With Nancy
Thank you again Lisa from Lisa's Creative Niche for picking me, I am thrilled.
Please check out their blogs, you will be overwhelmed by such an amazing projects, ideas and tutorial. Oh and you may just stubble accross some blog candy. Happy Crafting

Hey Sugar Valentine Card

This is a fairly simply card but I think it is pretty masculine.
I used the Hero Arts Cling Happy Valentine Stamp and stamped my image with VersaMark Ink. Using Chestnut Brown Embossing Powder and an embossing gun I embossed the stamped image. I fussy cut it out once the embossing was done.
I also fussy cut the diamonds out of one of the sheets of paper, added them to the paper stripe after it was affixed to the front of the card, added both the brown ric rack and brown polka dotted sheer ribbon along with the 3 buttons that I had already added the tan twine to using glue dots. Walla a pretty cool masculine card is made to send to one of the men (husband/sons/son in law) in my live.
Supplies:
Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar Collection: Stripe Rose and Cupid
Hero Arts Cling Stamp: Happy Valentine Stamp
A7 Brown Card
Chestnut Brown Embossing Powder
VersaMark Ink
Chestnut Brown Ink
3 Buttons, Tan Twin
Brown Polka Dot Ribbon
Narrow Brown Ric Rac

Be My Valentine Gift Card Holder

I made this gift tag holder to give to one of my "Valentine's" in Feb. I thought I would share the details with you but I am really not sure of the paper company because it was made from some scraps that I found. Isn't it amazing what you can make from scraps.
I took an A2 card, held it together and cut the top to look like a tag. I placed a piece of Bo Bunny Pink polka dotted paper to the inside front of the card, trim and glued it into place. I then folded the front of the card over to form a flap and glued the right side and bottom together to form a pocket. I glued my paper to the front of the card and then the flap, once I had that done I glued the flap down.
I fussy cut the bee from one piece of my scrap paper. Once I had my gift tag holder completely made I then added the Glossy Accent to the bee but this is the very last thing and allowed it to dry over night.

My flower was formed from 3 different size circle punches. (If you don't have circle punches just cut 3 different size circles, they don't have to be perfect) Now that you have the 3 circles, mist them lightly with water, wad them up, un-wad them and allow them to dry. Glue the circles together once they are dried. Add a brad to the center of the flower and attach it to the bottom of the card with Glue Dots. I then took my tiny attacher and placed some staples to my gift card holder.
The twisted piece of paper is 1/8" x 6" that has been misted, twisted around a small dowel, and once dried taken off the dowel. Attach it to the card to form a trail from the flower to the bee. I added a sticker from the SRM Thinking of You Sentiment sheet.
****Remember to do your Glossy Accent last and allow it to dry over night. Glossy Accent is a wonderful way to give dimension to your projects.

Cricut's Mothers Day Bouquet Gift Card

"BE MINE, BE TRUE, I LOVE YOU" GIFT 3" X 3" GIFT CARD
I started out with my Mothers Day Bouquet Cartridge and cut my flowers out starting at 2 1/4" and working down to 3/4". Once I had them cut I distressed them using my distressing tool, Pumice and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
I used the stylus from the McGills Paper Crafting Tool Set and the Paper Blossoms Craft Molding Mat. It is a new tool and there is a wonderful tutorial on U-Tube showing how to use it or you can visit the McGills site but really all you do is rub in a circular motion this helps to soften up the paper so you will be able to mold it. I did find though when I started to put my flower together it was easier to cut the petals all apart. I used Glossy Accent as my adhesive for each of the petals. McGill does sell individual punches to make these flowers but with the Mothers Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge there really is no need to get the punches in my opinion.
I left the largest flower as a solid piece and then just glued the layers of flowers onto the center of it.
Once I had it together and shaped the way I wanted it to be I added glue and Green Sage Flower Soft to the center of the flower
I used the Sizzix Argyle Embossing Folder and a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" cream card stock for the top of my 3" x 3" gift tag. I distressed the top of the embossed paper the Pumice and Aged Mahogany inks. I wrapped a pretty Valentine ribbon around my card front and then attached my flower to the left of the bow. I added a few of the Valentine SRM Sentiments to the top of my card to finish it off.

Happy Valentines Card made by Cal

Photo" removed - it will be featured in Ready, Set, Create Magazine Feb/March 2011

I love Ventines Day, can you tell. While my husband and I were on Christmas vacation I took my card making supplies with me and my husband decided one evening to color with me. I gave him my stamps and showed him how to color with Copic markers. (He has colored with me before, I just wanted to give him a refresher course).
This is the card top that he made. I put the card together for him but he did all the coloring on his own. I think he does an amazing job, great on detail. The Copics he used were: R27, V15 and V16.

"Love" Monochromatic with My Minds Eye

"Photo" removed - it will be featured in Ready, Set, Create Magazine Feb/March 2011.

Monochromatic Valentine layout with My Minds Eye. I fussy cut the flowers out of the one of the sheets of paper and add Tim Holtz Rock Candy to give the flowers a distressed look plus it makes them firm and easier to work with. I placed brads and buttons in the center of them for added detail.
If you have a sewing machine try sewing on your pages; I did around the rose and dot 6 x 8 piece of paper and if you don't try sewing by hand using a paper piercer and some embroidery floss. It is so easy to do and gives great dimension to your projects
.If you can believe it I also fussy cut the letters "LOVE" from one of the sheets of paper. I love fussy cutting but remember you need a really good pair of scissors.
Of course a page isn't complete without a little bling, so I add some of Valentine Crafts Glitter Heart Brads and some stick pins from Making Memories for add accents
Supplies:
My Mind's Eye: Kiss and Tell Collection
Tim Holtz: Rock Candy
Stick pins, flowers, brads, ribbon

Be Mine Valentine Frame

"Photo" removed - it will be featured in Ready, Set, Create Magazine Feb/March 2011

I need Valentine decorations and have you noticed not much out there to buy to decorate with. So when all else fails my thinking is to re-purpose something that you all ready have.
I found this frame that I had bought at Michael's on the clearance rack after Halloween for 90% off so if I remember right I think I paid a dollar for it. I couldn't resist so I bought 2. I also had left over Little Yellow Bicycle Valentine paper from a layout that I did and I thought well let see frame, scraps I am going to make me a Valentine frame.
Here is closer details of the Little Yellow Bicycle Valentine Big Cut Outs. They are great - you not only get hearts, but cupcakes, butterflies and flowers, oh and the best thing is they have glitter on them. I love SRM Stickers and used them for my sentiments. Notice though that I have medium size I-Top brad from Imaginisce as the center to my flower.
I just love my Roly Poly flowers, I make them all of the time. They are just so simple to make. This time though I thought I would just do half of the rosette flower and that is what became my accordion folds for around some of my Roly Poly flowers. Added some pearl gemstones from Prima, a brad from Pebbles, and some buttons. Now I have a beautiful frame for my mantel.
Supplies:
SRM Stickers: Valentine
Little Yellow Bicycle : Valentine Tonal Polka Dot, Mini Plaid Multi, Big Die Cuts
Prima: Swirls Fimo Cream Gemstones
Imaginisce: Medium I- Top Brad
Pebbles: New Arrival Brad
Green Buttons
Tan String

"Party On"

It's Time To Party! Looks like the next few months will be full of blog hop adventures for me and you so lets party. I know I will be involved in at least 3 in the next 1o weeks.
I made this 3" x 3" gift card using lavender cardstock, Stamping Station Stripe paper and a velum sticker. I took ribbon and stapled it using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to hold it in place.
Check out my cute little flower, I crochet it. I hope to get the directions up on my blog in the near future for all of you that may crochet but if you don't I know that crochet flowers are available in your favorite scrapbook stores. They give a wonderful look to your projects so "Let's Party".

Imaginisce "Altered Challenge" with Enchanted Products

Our challenge was to "Find" an old item, or something that can be re-purposed and re-used and
use a minimum of 75% Imaginisce product, alter our found item and then post it on the Imaginisce link before January 25th. Imaginisce will chose a winner at the end of January and you could win a $75.00 package of Imaginisce products.
My project is an old board that I had. Someone gave me 5 or 6 of these a few years ago, they were going to throw them away and of course I said "Wait" I think I can do something with them. Thank goodness for challenges I finally did something. I made this cute plaque for one of my grand-daughters bedrooms.

I used the new Petal Roller and a few of the Roly Posies in Pink. I then made a few of my own using a 1 1/2" circle punch and the Petal Roller. I twisted it around the roller and glued it to the board using Glossy Accent. I also made the little green paper twist by just twisting it also around the Petal Roller. My frog is glued to a Tim Holtz Facet using Glossy Accent, fussy cut and then glued to the board.

My stamp is the Carriage Snag'em Stamps. I stamped it on white paper and then enlarged it to 140% and used it as my template to paper piece my carriage together. I used buttons for the carriage wheels and some tan string to accent the wheels. My little dragon was fussy cut from a strip off the Princess Promenade along with the castle and the princess banner. I used the paper for the carriage from the Enchanted Paper Pak and added one of the crowns from Tim Holtz Adornments to top off the carriage. Believe it or not I hand placed everyone of those pearl and clear gemstones to make my trail from my flower garden to my carriage.

So from a blank board that was going into the trash to a treasure for my grand-daughters shelf. I hope you enjoy and look around for something you were going to throw away and just paper craft it.

Supplies:

Imaginisce: Enchanted Fairy Trails, Princess Promenade and Paper Pak

Imaginisce: Roly Posies in Pink

Imaginisce: Petal Roller

Imaginisce: Snag'em Carriage Stamp and Black Ink

Tim Holtz: Facets and Adornments

Brown and Green Card Stock

Glossy Accent

Helmar Adhesive

3 and 5 mm clear and white pearl gemstones

Brown Le Pen
