"CHARLIE BOYS BLUE SOFA"

Forgot how fun it is to have a puppy. It's like having a baby around - not that I want to do that again.. Charlie Boy is a pretty good pup; it is like he knows he has to be good or else. We have him on a pretty good schedule. It is really tough for me to get up at 5:30 to take him out and I am not happy when it is raining and neither is he but out we go.

We have had him for a week now and he is already so spoiled. We got him this little blue sofa thinking it would be better for the little guy and he wouldn't have to lay on the floor. At first he was find with the sofa being by the fireplace but that was short lived when he discovered if he tugged, pulled and threw it around he could get it anywhere he wanted it to be. Charlie Boy generally likes it in front of our farm table that holds our big screen tv. Makes me think the next thing he will want is Calvin's remote control, now that will be something - I don't think Calvin will give it up willingly.

I found this sketch over at Imaginisce while blogging and since I have been taking a lot of photos of Charlie and Imaginisce has a new paper line called "Scooter's Vacation" I thought it would be fitting to do Charlies first layout using it. LOL
I used 2 sheets from the Scooter's Vacation line and 2 sheets of card stock. I made my embellishments from the "Go Scooter Go" paper. I fussy cut all the small pieces out and used Glossy Accent to make puddles over them to form domes. It is a great way to make inexpensive embellishments. I used some pop dots to give the layout dimension and interest. I also did some machine sewing on the circles and tried not to make them look like they were suppose to be perfect, it always gives a great look when the imperfections of a page is suppose to be there.

Love rub-ons and used several different fonts and filigrees to get them used up. It looks great to mix and match letters. I added some metal paw print brads and bone clip to add just a little bit more to the page.

c. I am not a great fan of journaling but I do know the importance of it. I would encourage everyone to do a little journaling in your handwriting no matter how awful you may think it looks (you know we are our own worse critics). It will be important one day to those that are looking through your albums.

I am so thankful we got our little Charlie and want to say thanks for some great paper from Imaginsce to do my layout in. Perfect paper for a perfect pup.

"See the Beauty All Around"

Isaac always loves looking at the beauty all around him. He is truly our discoverer and explorer. He is always in search of something wonderful to see and to share. So when I seen the lyrics to the song "Dream Big" I couldn't help to think of Isaac "our Dreamer". What an imagination this little boy has.

The lyrics were on the "My Minds Eye Blog" with this page challenge. I use the Ooh La La papers and Accessory Sheet. The papers were "Simply Sweet", "Get in Line" and "Checked Out". Perfect paper for a layout. I also used some of the Mark Richards gemstones. Love the Nail Heads and Squares. The lyrics from the song "Dream Big" were the perfect lyrics for my layout.

"Dream Big"
Ryan Shupe

When you cry be sure to dry your eyes
'Cause better days are sure to come
And when you smile be sure to smile wide
Don't let them know that they have won

And when you walk, walk
with pride
Don't show the hurt inside
Because the pain will soon be gone

And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream big

When you laugh be sure to laugh out loud
'Cause it will carry all your cares away
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself
And it'll help you feel okay
And when you pray, pray for strength
To help you carry on
When the troubles come your way

And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream bigWhen you laugh be sure to laugh out loud
'Cause it will carry all your cares away
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself
And it'll help you feel okay
And when you pray, pray for strength
To help you carry on
When the troubles come your way

And when you dream, dream big
As big as the ocean blue
'Cause when you dream it might come true
When you dream, dream big

"HEY FRIEND - Just Saying Hello"

Made this cute card to send to a friend. In this age of texting one forgets to call or to write a note to each other. There is something to say about human contact, it is always something that one yearns for. If you are like me when I go to bed at night I pray, I think and pray for all that are close to me and that I love. I pray for other things that have filled my day and when I finish I think often of some that I haven't heard from in many days, weeks or even months. I always think tomorrow I will call but my tomorrows never happen and again the days become weeks and weeks become months. Sad to think about it.

I made my Card from Graphic 45 papers: On the Dot, Hopscotch, Buttons A La Mode, and Mantique.
I also did all my distressing using Tim Holtz Inks: Aged Mohagany, Broken China, and Tea Dye. I used ColorBox Chestnut to stamp the Clock from the 7Gypsies Venice Stamp collection. The cute stamp that says "Hey Friend-just saying hello" is from Basic Grey. I stamped it on a tag using Black Memento ink. The Antique Bronze Brads and ribbons really dress the tag and the pocket of the card.

Remember to make beautiful cards but more importantly take time to call your family and friends.

GCD Chipart Tool Giveaway

I went to the GCD blog site this morning at 6:15 and seen that I won the 1st prize package of $150.00 of products from them. I am so excited. Like any good scrapbooker you never have enough product. I have created so many things using this tool, but have not taken photos. Have to remember to do that. Think I may play with it today, have a few ideas in mind using it, will take photos for sure. It was a great way to start this morning since my new puppy pulled a 3" string out of my berber carpet; right in the middle of the living room floor.

Hard to get to upset with such a sweet little face looking up at you. Still trying to figure out a name for him.
