"CHARLIE BOYS BLUE SOFA"

Forgot how fun it is to have a puppy. It's like having a baby around - not that I want to do that again.. Charlie Boy is a pretty good pup; it is like he knows he has to be good or else. We have him on a pretty good schedule. It is really tough for me to get up at 5:30 to take him out and I am not happy when it is raining and neither is he but out we go.

We have had him for a week now and he is already so spoiled. We got him this little blue sofa thinking it would be better for the little guy and he wouldn't have to lay on the floor. At first he was find with the sofa being by the fireplace but that was short lived when he discovered if he tugged, pulled and threw it around he could get it anywhere he wanted it to be. Charlie Boy generally likes it in front of our farm table that holds our big screen tv. Makes me think the next thing he will want is Calvin's remote control, now that will be something - I don't think Calvin will give it up willingly.

I found this sketch over at Imaginisce while blogging and since I have been taking a lot of photos of Charlie and Imaginisce has a new paper line called "Scooter's Vacation" I thought it would be fitting to do Charlies first layout using it. LOL
I used 2 sheets from the Scooter's Vacation line and 2 sheets of card stock. I made my embellishments from the "Go Scooter Go" paper. I fussy cut all the small pieces out and used Glossy Accent to make puddles over them to form domes. It is a great way to make inexpensive embellishments. I used some pop dots to give the layout dimension and interest. I also did some machine sewing on the circles and tried not to make them look like they were suppose to be perfect, it always gives a great look when the imperfections of a page is suppose to be there.

Love rub-ons and used several different fonts and filigrees to get them used up. It looks great to mix and match letters. I added some metal paw print brads and bone clip to add just a little bit more to the page.

c. I am not a great fan of journaling but I do know the importance of it. I would encourage everyone to do a little journaling in your handwriting no matter how awful you may think it looks (you know we are our own worse critics). It will be important one day to those that are looking through your albums.

I am so thankful we got our little Charlie and want to say thanks for some great paper from Imaginsce to do my layout in. Perfect paper for a perfect pup.

  3. Hi Pam, Charlie is adorable. We have five fur-babies and some were older rescues and other were babies when we got them. Puppies and Kittens are most certainly more high maint! I love what you did with the layout
