Happy National Scrapbook Day and what better way to celebrate but with a project I made using Xyron new Creative Station. With Mother's Day right around the corner I decided to make my sweet daughter this frame for Mother's Day. I love the little flags that remind me of the importance of "Keep Us" .... two small words that have so much impact.
To
begin making your fabulous frame you will need to paint the wood and flourish
frame with DecoArt Relic Chalk Paint, set to one side. When paint is dry
apply a thin cover of Crackle Paste, allow to dry. When dry lightly paint with
the Raw Umber Antiquing Paint and set to one side to dry.
Using
die cut machine cut circle from blue paper and doily from coordinating paper. Emboss
the blue paper with embossing folder. Die cut smaller circle from blue card stock
Run large blue embossed circle through
the Xyron Creative Station.
Love that you are able to run such large
pieces through the Xyron Creative Station so easily by just the turn of a
handle.
Use the trimmer blade on the Xyron CreativeStation to cut the adhesive sheet from the machine.
NOW HOW EXCITING IS THAT!! for the exciting
part….open the top of the machine up to remove the 9” permanent adhesive cartridge to REMOVE the 9” adhesive cartridge and TO INSERT the 5” permanent adhesive cartridge.
Lift the 5” adapter up to insert the 5” adhesive
cartridge.
Insert the 5” Adhesive Cartridge. Run small
circle through the Xyron Creative Station, repeat with with the doily die cut.
Adhere doily to top of embossed piece, leave on
adhesive sheet.
DID YOU KNOW!!!! You can
run thin chipboard through the Xyron Creative Station. WELL you can…so run the painted flourish piece through the Xyron CreativeStation, leave on the adhesive sheet. Trim
Turn over and repeat by running
through the Xyron Creative Station a second time so that you will have adhesive
on both sides.
Clean adhesive off from the large openings of
the flourish frame, sprinkle a bit of Mustard Embossing Powder here and there on the flourish
frame and repeat again with the Chestnut
Embossing Powder. Heat set using your embossing
tool
Remove
from adhesive sheet and place on prepared frame.
Add
flowers and ribbon to frame using Xyron High Tack Adhesive Dots.
Add circle “Make It A Life
Worth Living Together” sentiment to center of frame.
Add small flags and flower
to side.
I hope you have enjoyed
my Mother’s Day Frame and try making one for someone special in your life. Hugs Pam
