Mixed Media Mayhem with DecoArt -"Always be Grateful for the Journey" Banner

Welcome May... Art with Heart Challenge using DecoArt products. Today I am sharing with you my "Always be Grateful for the Journey" Banner. The Art with the Heart May Challenge is all about "Mixed media May-hem with DecoArt Media" so make sure to stop by the Eileen Hull's Blog to check out all the details along with other fabulous inspiration. I love celebrating the Eileen's New Vintage Travel Dies and you can see the collection HERE!!!! I created a wall hanger for one of my projects this month but because I love both DecoArt and Eileen Hull's Dies I have been using both of them quite a bit lately.
I painted the wood banner and the trailer die cut using DecoArt Chalkboard Paint.  Once it was the chalkboard paint was completely dry apply a generous coating of Crackle Paint to the top.

Allow it to dry completely and paint with the DecoArt Chalkboard Treasure paint. Stamp with Grunge stamp and black chalkboard paint randomly on banner.  I free-hand my sentiment with the Everlasting Chalkboard paint from DecoArt. Set to one side to allow it to dry.
To paint Eileen Hull's Vintage Trailer die cut (I used just one side of the die cut) repeat as you did with the banner, only give the trailer a lighter coat of the Crackle Paint.
Paint the door frame and windows in using DecoArt Metallic Silver. (I free handed it but if you need to draw your shapes in lightly use a pencil since the paint will cover it up.) The small triangle is painted in Yellow Oxide.
When all the paint is completely dry add some of your favorite Tim Holtz RubOns.
Paint small flowers and bird with a liner brush using Quinancidone Red, dot centers and clusters dots using Everlasting Chalkboard Paint.
To antique the banner and trailer make a mix of Paynes Grey, Quinancidone Gold and Ultra Matte Varnish, brush over the top of each with paint brush. Wipe off, allow to dry.
Add some fun metals, moss, twine and a wire hanger to finish off your wall hanging. I hope you enjoyed my "Always be Grateful for the Journey" Banner and try making yourself one or to do as a gift. (That is what I am doing with mine and hope my friend enjoys it.) Make sure to check out May "Mixed media May-hem with DecoArt Media" Challenge on the Art from Heart Blog and join us. Can't wait t see what you create. Hugs Pammejo
