I am sharing with you my Crazy Birds Home Sweet Home Birdhouse today for the Art with Heart Challenge using DecoArt products. This month the Art with the Heart May Challenge is all about "Mixed media May-hem" so make sure to stop by the Eileen Hull's Blog to check out all the details along with other fabulous inspiration. I created my Crazy Bird Birdhouse by combining several of Eileen Hull's Dies from Sizzix to create my project.
So begin by cutting out one of the Recipe Box Die, one of the XL Scoreboard Box, and one top from the Window Box Die. Mix DecoArt Cobalt Turquoise and Titan Buff together to make a bit of a blue gray color.
Paint all the pieces with the mix.
Once dry...apply a random coat of the DecoArt Heather Gray Antiquing Cream over the top of each piece.
Once completely dry...stamp each piece using stamps and India Ink.
To finish giving your Crazy Bird Home Sweet Home Birdhouse make a mix of DecoArt Ultra Matte Varnish, Paynes Gray, and Quinacridone Gold. Apply to all pieces...wiping off here and there to give the birdhouse a distress look.
Make and stack each piece together...first the Recipe Box, then the XL Scoreboard Box and add the piece from the Window Box Die to the back. Add small ball legs to the bottom.
Stamp two sets of Crazy Birds out. Color with Copic Markers and apply the mix of DecoArt Ultra Matte Varnish, Paynes Gray and Quinacridone Gold lightly over the top of the colored Crazy Birds. Place one at the front of the Crazy Bird Home Sweet Home Birdhouse to the front....
and the second one inside of a bird nest that is on the top of the Home Sweet Home Birdhouse. Add small Styrofoam eggs that have been painted with DecoArt Colbalt Turquoise Paint.
Add dried greenery and flowers along with some metal pieces to finish the Crazy Bird Home Sweet Home Birdhouse with. Make sure to check out May "Mixed Media May-hemChallenge" on the Art from Heart Blog and join us. Can't wait t see what you create. Hugs Pammejo
