Page Maps is hosting a sketch contest with Sisters Scrapbook and they are offering a very nice prize package. The deadline is November 21st, make sure to run over to Page Maps to get all of the fine details on the contest. I tell you lately I can't get enough of the We R Memory Keepers Collections and the new Easy Sew Tool. It is super easy to use, just trying to get my pressure right but I know that it will depend on the papers I decide to use. On this layout I had to go through both pattern paper and card stock so I had to push just a bit harder but it is super easy to use and to line up. Check it out on the border underneath my snowman. It sure made the border become connected to the Curry Dot paper
.

Take a look at this fabulous stamp from We R Memory Keepers, it to is from the "Merry January" collection. I stamped directly on my Bo Bunny Curry Dot paper and then I paper pieced it on top of the stamped image by just repeat stamping on scrap papers from the collection, cutting and gluing it to the top of the stamped image.

Look at my ruffle border that I placed on my page to go along with the Page Map sketch. I cut 3/4" strips of paper and then with my scissors made narrow cuts into the strips going almost to the edge. I then took tweezers and rolled up every other one to make the rolls. It is so, so easy and gave a great look to the page. I then just adhered it to the photos in the lengths that I needed.

Lovin' the new We R Making Memory Maple Grove collection. So easy to make a card, layout, book, etc. I made this fabulous card to send out using the collection. I made this 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card in a matter of minutes. The center is a die cut from the collection and the band from the card base scraps. The die cut is very nicely embossed and has such great dimension to it. I place it on pop dots and added some Frosted Lace Stickles on the edges of the band and around the scallops. Gave it a finishing touch with a small blue and brown plaid bow.

PageMaps 2 Sketch Challenge

I haven't done any of the PageMap sketch challenges so I thought I would try it with this sketch. Just love the sketch and knew as soon as I saw it what my interpretation of it would be.

Look at all the fabulous details on this sketch, how could you not fall in love with it, with them. I am planning on doing another challenge that I will post later on this week. If you haven't had a chance to visit PageMaps you should run right over there and check it out and try doing one of the sketches.
I found this cute poem online by just typing into my search engine Coloring Eggs poem and this was the first one that popped up. I read it and of course thought perfect. It said just what I wanted my journaling to say.

Do you see all of the stitch lines, they are from We R Memory Keepers latest tool, the Easy Sew. Love it and super easy to use. Gives great detail to a page when you don't have your sewing machine with you.

Caardvarks Card Challenge using Penny Black stamps

Caradvarks blog is having a Penny Black card challenge with amazing prizes from Penny Black. All you have to do is make a card inside and out to enter, the deadline is today though at midnight, so get out all your cardmaking stuff and participate. I used Penny Black Stamp Christmas Text stamp block and Holly Jolly Clear Stamps.
I first stamped the Christmas Text stamp on a white piece of card stock using Memento ink, distressed the edges using a distressing tool, and then inked the edges with Pumice Stone and Frayed Burlap using a blending tool. I took a glue pen and the Flower Soft Sage Fine to do the leaves and allowed it to dry.

My card is an A2 card and I use 2 sheets of Fancy Pants paper from the Traditions Collection.

I cut one piece from the Holiday Sentiments, inked and glued it lopped sided to the face of my card. I took my Christmas Text piece and added it to the top, bent over one edge and added a few staples from my tiny attacher to the top left corner and again on the bottom right.

I stamped my snowman and mouse onto white card stock and colored in with my Copic markers: R24,R27, R81, Y19, E31, E33 and G02. Once I had them colored I then distress these with my distressed inks. I fussy cut them an added the snowman to the front of my card with pop dots, added a little bit of Frosted Lace Stickles.

On the inside of my card I added one of the journal tags from the Fancy Pants paper, fussy cut the packages from another of the tags and glued them to top of the journal tag. I added my fussy cut mouse to the right of the package so it would look like he placing his package on top of it.

I placed just a small black string to the top of the his package. I added a small amount of Frosted Lace Stickles to the mouses hat. Almost forgot the most important part: Stamp the sentiment on the Journal Tag!!!! Enjoy.

Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger -Diggin on Damask

The challenge over at Moxie Fab was to create a card, layout, bag, tag etc with something to do with Damask. I decided to do a several cards using 2 sheets of paper and one set of stamps.
The stamps I selected are the July Kit Club stamps called "Happily Ever After..." from Unity. Love them!!!! My papers are K & Company Flower Vine, it has a great vintage look to it and Basic Grey Nook & Pantry Cornbread paper.

On each of my papers that I used I distressed them with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and a blending tool.
This is the card that I am submitting for the Challenge at Moxie Fab. I don't think you can ever have enough friends and you need to take the time to let them know how special they are in your live. You get to live your life once so family and friends are very important.

I made this 3" x 3" birthday card to use on a birthday bag. If you haven't thought about it before. 3" x 3" are a fabulous way to get rid of your scraps. I stamped my image and then used a Marvy 2" scallop punch to punch the image out and placed it on my card with pop dots added a small bow. Instant gift tag.

This is an A2 card that I made using a paper doily and again a Damask stamp and a sentiment from the Unity stamp set. I added so some brown ric rac and a button that was tied with tan string. Love that string it comes in a variety of colors. Paper doilies come usually 10 to a pack and are very inexpensive.

And to finish up my cards I made this congratulation card for a new baby that is in my life. The rosettes are so easy to make. I have share a few times on my blog on how to make them so make sure to scroll down to see how to do them.

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge Friday with Sketch Inspirtion - "Snow Child"

A friend told me about the Bo Bunny sketch challenge so I thought I would do a layout using the new Bo Bunny "Midnight Frost" Collection. It is so pretty. I decided to flip the sketch because it worked better with my photos.
I had to use the photos of my grand daughter Annie because of the colors and the snowflakes that were on her jogging suit. The love a toddler learning to walk and trying to run, never a moment to sit down, so we were very thankful for our playpen. The layout deadline is November 3rd for the challenge.

I used the outside border of the "Midnight Frost Chipboard" Piece. I couldn't discard it when it to is so pretty. I placed it on a piece of the "Midnight Frost" paper and placed both pieces on to a piece of green card stock. I was able to capture the curve of the chipboard better when I did this.

I love hidden journaling. So the tag that I used is a Heidi Grace Journal Mount Sticker. I placed a sheer purple ribbon that has been stapled on to the left corner using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, also added a few lavender gemstones to the center of the snowflakes. I just slid it in behind my photo.
I pulled the journal tag out a bit so you would have a better look at how it will be. I love clever ways to make my pages have some interest and adventure to them.
I placed my flourish to the right side of my double mounted photo after I added some of my purple sheer ribbon to it and added pop dots to the snowflake that I fussy cut. I added a some gemstones and some glittery snowflakes from EK Success to my layout.
Here is my title "Snow Girl" part of it is from the "Midnight Frost" Chipboard and the "child" is from English Rose font from Quickutz.
