Winter Wonderland Cards with Xyron and Derwent Academy

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Let's create this holiday season with our favorite Xyron and Derwent Academy products!

I created beautiful poinsettias using Derwent Academy Acrylic Paints - 24 Tube Count, Derwent Academy Acrylic Paper 9" x 12" Heavyweight Pad. Derwent Academy Artist Brush Set - 8 Brushes

and Derwent Academy Paint Palette - 10 Wells along with Xyron Tape Runner with Permanent Adhesive and Xyron 1.5 Sticker Maker with Permanent Adhesive 

to create my holiday card set. 

Placing a drop of Derwent Academy Titanium White, Yellow Medium and Burnt Sienna Acrylic Paints into the Derwent Academy Paint 10- Well Palette. 

Add a few drops of water to create a wash. 

Apply wash to one sheet of 9" x 12" Derwent Academy Heavyweight - 24 Sheets Acrylic Paper using the 1/2" Derwent Academy Artist Brush to create background paper.  Dry. 

Spatter with Derwent Academy Titanium White, Scarlet and Black Acrylic Paints to finish background paper. Dry. 

Die cut prepared background paper using the Sizzix Deckle Die. 

Stamp background stamp to top of prepared die cut using Derwent Academy Burnt Sienna Acrylic Paint; dry. 

Adhere pattern paper and prepared background paper to top of 4" x 5 1/2" card base using Xyron Tape Runner with Permanent Adhesive. 

Stamp poinsettia stamp on  9" x 12" Derwent Academy Acrylic Paper 9" x 12" Heavyweight Paper. Paint with Derwent Academy Yellow Medium Acrylic Paint using Derwent Academy Artist Brush. Dry. 

Repeat with Derwent Academy Scarlet Acrylic Paint; dry. 

Die cut Sizzix Vintage Tidings from Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland pattern paper and brown card stock. 

Run words through Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker with Permanent Adhesive.

Adhere sentiments to prepared front of card bases.

Fussy cut prepared poinsettia flowers from paper; form with tweezers. 

Add to front of card front along with a twine bow, chipboard circle and gemstones.

Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland Card with Tutorial

“I fell in love with the Winter Wonderland Collection as soon as I received it! I love all the beautiful winter images! The best part for me is being able to fussy cut images from parts of the pattern paper and add them in layers to other pieces of the Winter Wonderland Collection. My first project is a special Christmas Card that is full of layers, dimension, one card layered into second card, tags and journaling blocks for my recipient to have to use for other Christmas projects, gifts, etc. There are so many different possibilities when creating with this beautiful collection.” Pam

 

Photo 1 - Leave one 5” x 6 ½” card base alone. Trim ½” off of side and bottom of one card base. Trim 1” off of side and bottom of last card base.

Photo 2 - Adhere paper to front of regular card base. Adhere second card to front to form pocket for tag.

Photo 3 - Adhere third card to front of pocket card that has been formed.

Photo 4 - Adhere strip of pattern paper to inside

Close Up Photos on the inside of the Winter Wonderland Card ...it is filled with tags, pockets and inserts.

 

   Adhere pattern paper, fussy cut images and flowers from pattern paper to the out side of the Winter Wonderland Card.

Fussy cut flowers and add to front of card front; tipping the flower petals up.

Add metal knob to front of card.
