Sweet Summertime Saturday!!!

Art journaling at its best. 

Relax, Refresh and fun drinks!

Are you ready?

Begin your art journal pages by applying gesso to pages, dry!

REMEMBER... 

this will help your watercolors and other mediums to flow easily. 

Lay Solar Flare Stencil apply crackle paint to top of prepared pages, dry. 

Apply tropical watercolors on prepared pages, dry. 

Stamp background images to page using ink. 

Stamp Surfboard with Floral Stamp on rice paper, fussy cut out. 

Adhere to prepared page with gel medium

Using watercolor paint and markers paint surfboards, dry. 

Write "Sweet" at top of page with pen. 

Write "Relax and Refresh" near surfboards with black pen. 

Create second page by stamping Tall Tropical Drink Stamp and Surfboard with Floral Stamp on rice paper.

Adhere to prepared page with gel medium

Using watercolor paint and markers paint surfboards, dry. 

Write "Summertime" at top of page with black graphic pen. 

Add small squares to pages with black graphic pen. 

Draw rectangle using ruler black pen.

Doodle around edges of rectangle with black pen.  

Add your favorite sweet summertime beverage recipe inside rectangle with black pen. 

Add Lindy's Bratwurst Brown Magical powder to bottom of page using water and paintbrush. Dry

Spatter with gesso. Dry.

May is in full bloom which means so is Springtime! 

Hydrangeas are blooming, dragonflies are flying, and everything is coming alive! 

Speaking of blooming... 

When you create with the Gel Press it reminds me that creating is watching a project bloom. 

Every time I apply different mediums and textures to the Gel Press and do a pull with paper, I am always so surprised at the creation that has been created. 

***This paper pull was created with using 3 Americana paints; brush on randomly

using the Gel Press and Brayer. 

Die cut a tag from the prepared paper. 

Lay stencil on top; apply crackle paste. Dry

Add border element to top of tag. 

Apply some rub-ons on here and there on prepared tag.

Add bow to tag. 

Paint chipboard frame using Prima Tropical Confections to match fussy cut piece. 

Fussy cut images from pattern paper. 

Adhere fussy cut pieces to prepared frame. 

Add to tag.

Finish tag with dragonflies and element strip at the bottom.

Write Your Own Story Mix Media Card

Happy Monday!

How about doing a bit of mix media along with bits of pattern paper and 

what better card to send to someone you love and admire but a reminder for them

 "To Write Their Own Story"!

Begin by laying stencil on white card stock; apply paste over stencil. Dry. 

Shake a bit of Lindy's Magical Shaker on prepared base. 

Spray with a water and allow to dry. 

Adhere to card stock and place on card base. 

Adhere border strip and scalloped border to card front. 

Adhere arrow to top of card along with small brad. 

Add floral Ephemera to font of card with pop dots. 

Add sentiment Ephemera to front of card with pop dot. 

Finish with stapling a few times at the bottom of the border strips.

 Begin by adhering pattern paper to the top of a 5" x 6 1/2" card base. 

Die cut frame; adhere to top of card base. 

Stamp Prairie Crocus on white card stock with black ink. 

Color with your favorite markers. (I used Copic Markers)

Adhere prepared piece to front of card base.

Punch circles from pattern paper; add to front of card with pop dots.  

Stamp Happy Birthday on white paper; mat on pattern paper. 

Add to card front with pop dots.

Just Surfin Slimline Card with Blank Page Muse

Just Surfin...through life!

Don't you feel like that at times?

A card that is just fun may lift ones spirits like it did mine as I created this Just Surfin' Slimline Card.

Re-create for any celebration, thinking of you or other type of encouragement. 

Don't do cards...how about a fun border to place on a layout or in a mixed media journal!

You know the sky is the limit when you create with Blank Page Muse stamps! 

Begin by stamping Surfboards on cream card stock using black ink. 

Color with your favorite markers.

Mat prepared colored Surfboards piece on Kraft card stock and pattern paper. 

Adhere to front of 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" card base. 

Stamp Surfboards three times on cream card stock; color with markers. 

Fussy cut out. 

Add to card front. 

Stamp Umbrella Drink and Just Surfin' Sentiment on cream card stock with black ink.

Deco Punch the corners, mat on pattern paper. 

Add to front of card base with pop dots. 

Ink edges with black .005 pen.

It is hot in Memphis but with sunshine and heat comes fun, sweet drinks! 

Why not have a get together with family and friends or create fun, sweet cards to send to them instead. 

Begin by stamping small Umbrella Exotic Drink randomly on cream paper using black ink. 

Color prepared stamped images using markers. 

Adhere to pattern paper and cardstock. 

Adhere to 5" x 6 1/2" card base. 

Adhere pattern paper and card stock strip to front of card.

Adhere Epherema Card to front of prepared card. 

Stamp Tall Tropical Drink with Umbrella Stamp and Tall Pineapple Linework Art Stamp on cream card stock. 

Color with markers. 

Fussy cut out. 

Add prepared pieces to font of card with pop dots. 

Add You Are My Sunshine sticker to card front.
