Disclaimer Notice: I’ve received products/compensation from Graphic 45. This project however, is 100% my own project! Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. I explain more HERE!.

“Hello everyone! Are you as excited as I am when you find something new, something you are just clueless about! Recently I was in Florida and went into a fun scrapbook store to shop. Well, my eyes gazed upon the Finnabair Mica Powders…you know the feeling you get, your hands start twitching and you start doing a happy dance in your being and all you can think about is how to use it.  Well, that was me! I had to have some, I needed to try it… so that is what I did for you today. BUT I was a bit nervous so I watched a video, you know to see how to use my new-found mica and the rest is just the beginning of my story.  I am sharing with you today A Ladies’ Diary Mixed Media Canvas using the mica in both a spray and a mix with gesso.”

Begin by adhering chipboard to top of canvas and then apply a good coat of Gesso to the canvas; dry.
Lay stencil on prepared canvas; apply gesso to top with palette knife; dry.

Lay stencil back on to canvas over dry gesso; apply Texture Paste to top with palette knife; dry.

Hot glue metals and flowers to top of canvas. Paint gesso on your canvas, metals, flowers to help the spray and other mediums to grab to the products.

Mix mica with water in small misting bottles; spray on top of prepared canvas. (HINT:Keep small mist bottles and other small container on hand to store your own custom paints and mists.) Reapply spray until you get the depth of color you like; remember to dry between sprays.

Using stencil brush dab frames with mix of gesso and mica; dry. Repeat on canvas; dry.
Lay stencil on top of dry canvas; apply mica mix with palette knife.

Spatter prepared canvas, frames and chipboard frame with gesso and black paint; dry.
