I decided to alter a 14 x 14 frame that I found on a clearance rack for 7.00 dollars. I love snowman, so I dedicated my frame to an altered work using one.
I placed a piece of My Minds Eye "All Bright" on the piece of cardboard to begin with.
Next, I stamped the Stampendous Snowman on to computer paper with black ink, enlarged it to 285% and copied onto My Minds Eye paper that I cut down to fit into my printer, fussy cutting it out once it was copied.
I needed at least a hundred (100), yes a hundred (100) pine leaves for my project and what better way to do it but to find an image and cut them out with my Cameo. Easy Peay as they say. If you don't have a Cameo, you can purchase a punch from EK Success or maybe find one to use on your die cut machine or Circuit.
I cut the leaves out of two different pieces of pattern green paper, gluing them on the snowman following the stamped image lines. (Make sure to just place gle on the bottom of the leave since you want them stand up a bit)
I added a fun piece of paper for his hat along with some gold pine cones I found at Hobby Lobby, cut his nose from a tree off of a piece of Bo Bunny paper and accordion fold it before placing it on his face. His coal eyes and buttons are Prima bling. Don't you love his little lacy collar? I added a Christmas metal to the his collars as well as on to the skewer that the snowflake and banner is attached to.
I love to fussy cut, so my border is made with multiple layers along with some gemstones for the center of the flowers and a twine bow on the birds hat.
My banner is done the same way. The snowflake is from Tim Holtz Snowflake Die, it is so pretty and so very versatile to use. Look in your stamp stash and see what you may have to use to make a Christmas Frame for yourself or as a gift. I hope I have inspired you and are ready to see what the very talented Nicole from Canadian Nickel Scrappin has to share with you. Of course all blog hops need a prize and here is the prize I will be sending out to one lucky winner. Again, please leave a comment on each designers blog and a way to contact you. Hugs Pammejo

ReplyDeleteThis was a wonderful blog hop! I commented on your project first, then did the hop, then realized I need to let you know I completed the hop, so deleted my original comment. I loved your chipper snowman on your wonderful altered frame. I especially appreciated the tip on stamping an image, and then enlarging it to fit the size of a project! I never would have thought of that. The banner in the corner is so festive, and the whole piece just makes me smile. I've added you to my reader, and became a follower. So glad I found you...thanks to Gloria Stengel!
