Tim Holtz Tags with Distress Inks - Day 2 Creativity 101

Distress Inks is something that I use all of the time but I have been taking the Creativity 101 Class that Tim Holtz is teaching and thought I would show my first set of tags. I am only 6 days behind, lol, thank goodness it is a class we can work on at our own pace. I am so glad I had all of the product for these tags but that is a different story for some of the other classes that I have view.
I love the Papillon Stamp, it is one of my favorites and it has a fabulous background stamp in the same package. I did my distressing with my blending tool along with Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, Frayed Burlap, and Wild Honey to achieve the colors on my vanilla tag. I also did and extra stamp of the butterfly to give my tag some dimension. Can you see the small water splatters on the tag, AWESOME.
On my second tag I just stamped my stamp with the various inks from the inks, inked it and stamped it several times and of course inked the sides. I also used a metal butterfly from 7Gypsies, bent the edges, painted the edges with my paint dabbers and used a bit of Glossy Accent in the center of the butterfly.
On my last tag I used the Visual Artistry Stamp set to create my tag. This tag is done by using the same color palette only this time you do smear spots on your craft sheets to achieve the look. I added a metal nib to the bottom of my tag along with some of the Tim Holtz film strip.
I would encourage you if you haven't signed up for the Creativity 101 class you may still have time. I gave you some basic information on each tag that you would find on Tim's Blog, in his book or previewing his videos. I am trying to honor him by giving you a bit of information and encouraging you to go to his site to see how wonderful his products are. I LOVE, LOVE Tim Holtz products because they work so well with other manufactures that I am very fond of. Let me know if you have tried this technique or if you are doing his class, would love to see what you have done. Hugs Pammejo

  2. Great job. I'm behind on the class watching too, and even more behind on the actual homework part. :) Guess I better get busy. Once again, you and Tim have inspired me.
