KinderStampO October Blog Hop Bloggers October 15-16

BOO!!!! Today is the weekend of the KinderStampO October Blog Hop so if you cam by today to see what I am up to I would like you to join us in a hop. Make sure if you decide to follow my blog and decide to follow it to go back to the KinderStampO and start hopping, if you came hoppin' by from the very talented Jessicas' fo That'z Uneek then you are heading in the right direction. For my BOOSTACULAR TREAT I created a Painters Tray to decorate one my walls with. I purchased it at our local Hobby Lobby store and used my 40% off so I paid a little over 6 dollars for it. My paper is all from Fancy Pants Oct 31st Collection. I love just staying with paper and embellishments from the same collections because they go together so well.
I used one of the Acrylic Ghost, some of the Oct 31st filigree rub ons from the collection to decorate my ghost with along with a small pumpkin basket stamp that I had along with Black Stazon ink. Stazon ink will stamp on acrylic beautifully and if you happen to smear it guess what .... you can clean it off with either you Stazon cleaner or UnDu and re-stamp it. Isn't that fabulous to know.
My first square is using not only a piece of Spooks paper but also some of the tags from the Cut Outs sheet. I also place a heavy twine ribbon and tied a bow and a metal Tim Holtz embellishments.
My second square has a piece of Bewitched paper added a piece of Little Yellow Bicycle Canvas Sticker at the bottom. I added a pen nib and a Design Embellishment on pop dots from the Oct 31st collection.
I added a Tim Holtz metal frame and a Making Memories bottle that I filled with Glossy Accent and red alcohol ink to make my poison.
I added a fabulous spider that I bought at our local Michaels store to give my square more depth. Isn't it the coolest spider!!!!!
Now this is the most fabulous part. A year or so ago I seen this on someones blog (I wish I could give them credit but can't remember who it was) and then a friend told me that she was going to do this to a tray she was working on and I remember I had heard this before so after my memory being jolted again when I started working on this tray I decided to do it.....you maybe wondering what is it. Well if you look close it is a "MAGNET" I glued a magnet to my tray and also to the back of each of my base papers so I will be able to change the papers out and save me a few dollars by re-purposing the tray. Isn't that a fabulous idea!!!!
for my third spot I used Bewitched paper and added big metal numbers from Making Memories, a calendar from Maya Road and die cuts from the embellishment package. I added a Making Memories clip to the tag and some bow to the top of the pumpkins I fussy cut.
Now on to my fourth space, the paper is a piece of Eerie paper.
My frames are from Making Memories and Tim Holtz. I used two of the rub ons and placed it on white paper and then glued the square frames over them. My oval picture is actually on the paper so be careful when you cut your piece of paper if you want a skull head. Once I had them glued on to the paper and my key was glued on I filled the centers with Glossy Accent and allowed them to dry so it would look like they were under glass.
My bat that is on my tray is acrylic from the collection that I distressed with White Stazon Ink and added rub ons from the Oct 31st collection along with a fabulous metal bug.
For my fifth and sixth squares it is a piece of the Eerie paper, a cut out from the cut out sheet. On the fifth square I added one of these ghostly looking Tim Holtz dolls to the square.
On the sixth square I added a "W" metal, a rub on and wooden dowel that has been wrapped with sheer purple ribbon.
This is one of my very favorite things is fussy cutting. I cut all of the hats from the Bewitched paper, placed them on pop dots, added some bows here and there and wrapped black twine around the points after the were in place to make them look like they were hanging from a string. How cute is that.
I hope you enjoyed my Halloween Tray and that you might even feel inspired to make one for yourself, remember to add those magnets so you can re-purpose the tray. I would love to hear of any other fabulous ideas you have for re-purposing projects. So now it is time to go on the next very talented designer and without any further wait hop on over to Linda's MyQuilling Nest. I hope you enjoy all of the inspiration, tutorials and maybe even fine some giveaways along the way.
