It's All About Green Blog Hop March 5-6

Kathryn from Creations From Kathryn has asked that we make projects that are "All About Green". So I came up with some very green cards that I hope you will enjoy, so if you have come from Sigrid's Lovesrapreflect you are doing It's All About Green in the right order but if you just hopped in to visit me you might want to go back to Kathryn's at Creations From Kathryn to begin the hop and make sure that you don't miss any of the green goodness that is going to be shown this weekend. I made all of my cards from 2 sheets of paper and some card stock. I wanted to see how many I could get made out of minimal supplies. I designed these 3 using a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" green card stock base, corner round the two bottom corners and applied my base paper. I also inked the sides of the papers edges before I placed them on my card base.
I then added my stamped circle sentiment and placed it on a larger dark green piece of card stock, using my Glue Pro Glider I placed it on the front of my card. I took some green ric rac ribbon, my two way tape and placed my ribbon on before I added my last strip of paper. My finishing touches were a green flower, button that I threaded with some tan twine and a couple of green brads.
Here is the side view of my Smile Card so you can see that I cut about a 1/2" from the bottom of the front of the card and added a 1" strip to the inside of the card, remember to corner round and ink this piece also.

My next cards are from the same two sheets of paper. I made two A2 cards from light green card stock. I applied a square of the left side of my card. Notice the stitching I did that with a Black Zig Pen since I didn't want to drag out my sewing machine.

I then added my smaller strips of paper and did the same stitching to them. My HI is from a Quickutz font, add a big green flower, button that has some tan twine tied to it and some staggered buttons to the bottom.

Can you believe how many cards you can get out of a sheet of paper. I have one more card to share but I am going to save it til it gets closer to St Patrick's Day so make sure to stop back it so you can see what else I did with these two sheets of paper.

Jenn's Birthday Party

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENN!!!!
To celebrate Jenn's Birthday she is hosting a birthday blog hop. It will be March 4-6 so help spread the word about Jenn's birthday celebration, the more the merrier. If you hopped here from Madison Funky Cards Blog you are on the right track, but if you want to start at the beginning make sure to go to Jenn's Scrappin' Lil Turtle Blog to begin the celbration.
We were all ask to incorporate a turtle into our projects. I decided to use my Create a Critter Cartridge turtle to make my 2 page layout. I will have it ready for birthday pictures that will be coming this year from all of our birthtday celebration.
On my first page my turtle is following the birthday trail to the second page, thought it was a cute idea. LOL. I used All My Memories Birthday Boy 2, 3, and 4 papers and the Bauble Embellishments that went with the paper.

I punched out a lot of circles from my scrap All My Memories Birthday Boy Paper, I then went around each of the circle groups with a paper piercer and sewed back stitch around each group with 1 strand of dark blue embroidery floss. Notice the Happy Birthday trail looks a little distress, I did that using my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool. This page will hold a 5x7 picture that I have a white mat for. I just added some of the embellishments to the page that match the paper.

Here is my second page and it will hold two 4x6 pictures.

I want you to see a close up of the turtle and notice that on three of the circles I filled them with some of the Martha Stewart Baking Twine to give the shell some dimension and on the other three circles I filled them with Glossy Accent. Again, I used my distress tool and distressed more the Happy Birthday trail that I had cut from my paper. I used black gemstones for his mouth and eyes, a zig pen and a blue sheer bow to finish dressing up my turtles. Oh!!! Notice that I did the paper piercing around the outside edge of this page and did my stitching with the dark blue embroidery floss.

I stamped my flags with the new Hero Arts Friendly Flags, cut them out with my detail scissors, distressed the edge sand placed them on pop dots. I used the Martha Stewart Bakery Twine to make little knot strings and glued them in between each of the flag. On the last flag I made it look like it had blown off from the rest of the stream of flags. Finish off the page with some of the leftover embellishments.

Happy Birthday Autumn/March 1st with Imaginisce

Can you believe it is already March 1, the year is just speeding by and I am so far behind in my scrapbooking I think I feel a little overwhelmed at times. I do love it though and it is my way of relaxing. I am sharing with you today a layout that I made for little grand-daughter Autumn, today is her birthday and thought this would be away to celebrate her since she lives so far away. Happy Birthday Autumn.
I used the Imaginisce Birthday Bash, All Kinds of Happy and Apple Cider papers to do my layout in. I love Imaginisce papers they always flow so very nicely together.
Check out my presents, cakes, and of course my banner that I fussy cut using my detailed scissors. I placed all of the pieces on pop dots to give added dimension. I am beginning to think you can never have to many pop dots to go along with your bling. Hee, Hee, Hee. My bling was placed on using the I-Rock and the Metallic Pearl/Glam Rocks and I think I am falling in love with this new tool.

Oh and of course there is the twine. I love twine and ribbon. I placed my black and pink twine down as I placed my banner and balloons into place. It just gives a wonderful finished look.

Creations By Gill M Challenge

The theme for the new Creations by Gill M challenge is Mardi Gras. Theres is no sketch and no specific type of project required so just go with whatever takes your fancy - the only stipulation is you need to use the colours Purple, Gold and Green. A few weeks ago I was in a blog hop that was based on a holiday theme and we had to come up with something with it for a birthday. When I seen the challenge I thought I would just reshow my card. I had drew and pieced the mask together and I think it is fabulous. Would love for you to visit Gill and check out her blog, maybe do the challenge and show her some love by following her.

Get Well Card Challenge on Paper Patch Crafts Facebook

Anne of Paper Patch Crafts is having a Get Well Challenge on her Facebook, you have til March 4 to get the challenge posted to her facebook.This is the card that I entered into the challenge. I use the Echo Park Be Mine Papers, Prima Swirl Pearl Bling and handmade flowers.
This is the sketch that you will need to use. You have a chance to win a Record Scrapbooking Pack from Echo Park.
Here is a side view of the flowers. The lilies I drew using a template that I made, then I used the McGill Paper Blossom Tool Kit and Mat to make my flowers to press to give them dimension. It is nice to be able to draw simple shapes but if you aren't able to that McGill has the punches to make the Lily along many other flower punches.
My quill flower is a circle that I cut to form a spiral and used my tweezers to roll and form a flower.

You can see this close up of the Lily. I used the paper from the Be Mine collection. Notice the small dots, that is Glossy Accent to make the Lilies look like they have dew on the. One Stamp -Technique Thursday

Well today is Technique Thursday, the only difference is that I am only going to show you three different techniques but using the same stamp. I selected these techniques today because several I have talked to recently say they can't tell the difference in Copic and Watercolor pencils. I hope this will help you see the difference between the first 2 cards, I used Copic on the first and Watercolor pencils on the second. My last is done with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
The stamp I selected is the Hero Arts Thank You Cling. My cards are all A2 size that have been faced with paper from Making Memories English Garden.
Card#1-Copic Markers-R24, R83, R85, Y15, Y26, B93, B97, and G14. I first stamped my image with Memento Ink on to white card stock, this is the preferred ink because it won't run on you. Color your image first with the lightest color and then take the darker color and do your shading. When finished fussy cut the image out and place it on pop dots.
Card#2-Watercolor Pencils-Light Blue, Dark Blue, Pink, Green, and Green. Stamp your image with Black Stazon Ink and using a H20 pen and your watercolor pencils paint your image in. Finish your card just as you did in Card #1.
Card #3-Tim Holtz Distress Inks-Worn Lipstick, Fired Red, Wild Honey, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany and a H20 Pen. First, stamp your image with Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. (Embossing acts as a resistance so if your Distress Ink gets on it you are able to wipe it off with a light damp paper towel.) Paint your image in the lightest of the Distress Ink and do your shading with the darker Distress Ink using your H20 pen. Finish your card as you did with Card #1.
