Happy Mothers Day!!!

Every Day should matter for not just mom but for everyone. I made this Mother's Day card to share on my blog today just to let everyone know that you matter, are loved and good thoughts are being sent your way. I made my card using Teresa Collins "Everyday Moments" paper pad and sticker sheet.

The flowers are fussy cut from the paper and they along with the sticker sentiment were placed on pop dots. I placed the larger flower I cut out on to a 2" and 2 1/2" circle. On the center of the flowers I placed a pit of Ocean Flower Soft using a little dab of Scotch Quick Glue. The "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is from a rub on that I had. I hope everyone has had a blessed Mothers Day - I know I have. I would like to end my post with the sentiments that were in a card I received from my dear niece Tanja. Tanja lived with us all of her teenage years, became a part of our family and we look at her as a daughter more than a niece, she has always been a blessing to our family and we love her dearly.

What I learned from Mom

Where do I start:

It's like a book

that's written on my heart,

and wherever I go in life, 

it guides me in ways

I bet she doesn't 

even realize.

 First of all, I learned that 

sometimes a hug 

can say more than words.

And that I could trust myself

as I began to make my way 

in the world,

because I was standing on the solid foundation

she gave me.

I learned 

that strength comes 

from standing up 

and doing what's right,

even if sometimes 

you stand alone.

(no matter how many good ones

I came up with!)

I learned that success 

comes from trying, failing, 

and trying again, not from everything 

being perfect all the time.

That kindness 

counts more than 

getting ahead. 

That times may change,

but the important 

things don't.

I Learned

that no matter

where I am, there's someone who cares

and believes in me. 

And I learned 

that there really are

angels on this earth... because my mom 

is one of them.

Paper Patch Color Challenge Card

I made a fun card to do for the color challenge over at Paper Patch Crafts. I needed a bit of motivation since I have been sick for the last few weeks. Thanks Anne for the challenge. The colors were to use Eggshell, Navy and Olive for our cards. I used Basic Grey Oliver paper pad, SRM Thank You Sentiment Sticker, some Gears from 7Gypsies along with a handle to make my card. Technique Tuesday - Fun With A Punch

 I love punches and what a fun way to show you hour to not only do the front of your card but also to to the back. To start with I cut a piece of Echo Park paper to measure 2 1/2" by 5 1//2" and punched it on both sides with my EK Abstract Flower Border Punch, scored it in half and then inked the edges.

I then attached it to the card base, added my hot air balloon and sentiment that I cut up off the sticker sheet. How easy and super cute it that and yet the back of the card is as special as the front of the card.

Technique Tuesday - Sewing Tag with Adironack and Distress Inks

I wanted to share today the look of mixing Adirondack inks with Distress inks. As you can see that the Adirondack inks maintain most of their color through the use of Distress inks. I used Lettuce, Butterscotch and Stonewashed Dye Inks along with Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Seamless Experience and Stampers Anonymous Mixed Media stamps. When I placed the Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans ink over the top I think it did mute the Adirondack inks a bit. Love that the Wild Honey just make it all pop especially the Adirondack Butterscotch.
Here is the look of the Adirondack inks when I first stamp onto the manilla tag. They are very bright and pristine.
I love the use of metal, ribbon, just anything with dimension. I added some fun mini spools that I tied twine from the Twinery around, alsosome sewing charms, ribbon that I distressed with the inks, a button and mini safety pins to my tag.
Believe it or not I actually have a use for my tag and that is to place it on a layout that I will be making of my grand daughter receiving her sewing machine at Christmas, I think it will make the perfect embellishment. Hugs Pammejo

When Pigs Fly Card

I seen today is the OWH Stars and Stripes Blog hop and wanted to enter my When Pigs Fly Card into the contest that is going on. I entered this card on several of the blogs along the way. I just want to let you know that I support and admire all that OWH does for our troops and the service that they have given to our men and women.
Today I made a card using Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers, love the" If Pigs Could Fly" papers so that is what I based my card on today. I did some stitching with my We R Memory Keepers Easy Sew to do my crossing hatching on the card. I added some fabulous eyelet and ribbon I stain with Tim Holtz Tea Dye stain to the front of the card along with some brown satin ribbon. I hope you try sewing on your projects it makes them have some interest and the Sew Easy is just Sew Easy to use :). Hugs Pammejo

Paper Patch Crafts Mothers Day Card Challenge

I wanted to enter the Mother's Day Challenge that Paper Patch Crafts is hosting. Anne's challenges are always fun and I just love the sketch she shared with us to use. I made my card using the Prima Madeline 6 x 6 paper pad along with metals, baubles, and pins from Making Memories.
The die cut was a part of one of the papers in the collection, so I fussy cut it out and placed it on pop dots over the Maya Road Red Organza Ribbon and the French General Lace. I hope that you will go over to Paper Patch Crafts and play along with the challenge that is going on. The deadline is April 15th so you have plenty of time. Hugs Pammejo

"Beautiful" Layout with Echo Park

I made this layout over the weekend using the This and That Gracious Collection from Echo Park. It was the perfect collection for youngest grand daughter because as a mom/ grandma, you can agree with me you think your children/grandchildren are the most beautiful. :) The fun part for me though was I seen a post from Scrapbook & Cards Today looking for simple word layouts to submit for their facebook to share. I emailed mine in and guess what I was the "FIRST" layout to be selected. How exciting is that.
I also used one of the Lucky 8 punches from We R Memory Keepers to do my background page with. If you haven't used them they are fabulous. I also took the words from the background strip, cut it up and using my distress tool, I distressed it and inked it, placing it on pop dots.
Check out the paper and see how I torn it and again inked to make it look distress. HINT: make sure to always tear your paper toward you to get the core to show well.
