Love Plaque

This is my first project as a "Spotlight Gal" for GCD Studios. I am honor to have been selected for August. I made this "Love Plaque" simply because I love GCD products. I used the Ella Blue Collection - Frances and Georgia papers, along with the Homespun Chic Pink Redwood paper. I purchased my board at our local craft store for 2.99 , I had a 40% coupon. Yippee!!! My blue berries and brown flowers were also purchased there on sale. Another Yippee!!!
The other flowers are from Prima and Stringing Heart Flowers along with some that I made. I painted my frame first using Creamcoat Burnt Umber. I put my paper on the inside of plaque. Added some large twill ribbon and mini blue ric rac. I took 2 - 3 1/2" dollies and ink the top of them with my Chestnut Roan ink, once they were ink I glue 1 doily to the lower inside left corner, 1/2 of a doily to the top right of the curve and 1/4 doily to the lower right inside corner of my plaque. My letters are the GCD Big Alphabet that I covered with the Frances Paper and ink using Chestnut Roan ink.

Following are a few picture to show you how to make these flowers. So, so easy and so cute.

I used a Marvy 3 1/2" punch for my large flowers, but you can use any size. Just remember the smaller the circle the small the flower.

I cut the circle with my scissors so it would be a spiral.

Taking my tweezers I began rolling and as I rolled I would occasionally put us a small amount of glue to hold it into place.

When I got it completely rolled I glue it to a small circle. When I knew my glue was dry I than added it to my plaque along with a little bling. The smaller paper flowers I will be showing you later this month. So please remember to come and check out what tutorials I will have for you to enjoy.

Road Trip

Everyone needs a vacation and I know that we love to go RVing!!! Seen this cute stamp from Inkadinkado and thought it would make a fabulous card. Always thinking of friends and family to go vist, so today I am just thinking of you and waiting to head out on our next road trip.

Thinking of you

Look at the fabulous card I put together from my Daisy D scraps and Unity stamp. I used a combination of Memento inks for my stamping and than did some distressing on the sides of the card. I used some 2 way tape and did a little accordion folding for my ribbon.

"Ideas, Tips and Techniques"

Ever wonder how in the world can I keep up with everything that I see or hear when I am surfing the web. Well, I made this journal so I would be able to keep all Ideas, Tips and Techniques in it. I always have it in reach and have made tabs so it is easy to locate which section I would like to lookor write in.
I made my Journal with Jillibean Soup Eggdrop papers, fussy cut some little umbrella from one of the pieces of paper and gave them dimension with some pop dots, buttons and strings. I hand drew the handle for my umbrellas using a Zig Marker and add some small gingham ribbon to them. Always keep something with you to write and sketch in and it never hurts to make it pretty with paper.

"Let Freedom Ring"

Let's never forget our freedom and let it ring this Fourth of July.
Let us celebrate through family, friends, and always remember our freedom.

Oh, say,can you see, by the dawn's early light,What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? Let's remember our brave that won't be here this Fourth of July to keep us free.
Let's lift them up in prayer for God's soveriegn protection and for nation and especially for our leaders.
