Art with Heart December Challenge is still going in full swing so make sure you check it out!
We are sharing some of our “Favorite Things” and we want you to play along! So for the month of December just remember anything goes.
So get out some of your favorite Eileen Hull dies from Sizzix and play along with us.
Can't wait to see what you create.
One of my favorite dies is Eileen Cookie Box die...it so versatile....you can make and use them individually or stack them or like me I left the lid off an created a special ornament. I had seen several box like ornaments this year in stores and online; so I was inspired to create my own.
I began by first cutting the die out using white mat board and pattern paper.
Ran the pattern paper through the Creative Station from Xyron.
I inked the outside and edges with brown ink.
Also ink the pattern paper on the edges prior to placing them on the box.
Die cut the bottom from the ephemera pack.
Ink edges and place inside box.
Spray a small wreath with mist. Allow to dry.
Hot glue red twine around edge of cookie box.
Adhere to wreath to top of box with hot glue to for nest.
Add birds, pinecones, berries and rusty stars.
Die cut leaves from Sizzix Tattered Pinecones and add under nest.
Add a brown twine bow to the side.
Add modeling past to the bottom inside of cookie box to make it look like snow.
Add a few small packages and pinecones.
Apply modeling past here and there to make it look like it is snowing.
I give my kids a special ornament every year and thought this would be the one I would give to my son and his bride since they are expecting their first baby.
Love the two red birds, momma is sitting patiently on the nest and daddy looks a bit bewildered, lol
Honestly, they are super excited so the Merry Christmas Baby will be a fabulous addition to their tree.
