Not Your Everyday Composition Book with Gina's Lasercut Designs

 Good morning!!!!
I am excited to share my third post as Gina's Lasercut Design Guest Designer!!!
Don't you love back to school sales? I sure do!!!! I always stock up on school supplies...the prices are always to good to pass up.
Like these 50 cent composition books....oh my!!!!
BUT....
how boring are the covers of composition books.
 SO.......
lets make a fabulous mixed media composition book to write notes, favorite verses or other timeless memories in. Begin by first applying DecoArt White Gesso over the top, give a light first coat, allow it to dry and re-apply. Allow to dry completely.
Once dry....tape of book binding with washi tape.  Place Gina's Lasercut Designs Chipboard and flowers down using a Scotch Quick Dry Glue, allow it to dry.
Randomly place washi tape on book cover.
Spray with the DecoArt Media Red and Yellow Shimmer Misters, allow them to dry.
Make a mix of two parts DecoArt Media Quincridone Gold, one part of Media Paynes Grey and some Ultra Matte Varnish together and apply to front of composition book and over all of the wonderful Chipboard pieces from Gina's. Allow to dry between coats.
(I applied several coats to achieve the depth I wanted, going darker here and there with the mixture)
Using DecoArt Media Antiquing Cream and a round brush apply to the top of Gina's Chipboard words, numbers and flowers. Mix Antiquing Cream Patina Green with varnish, apply lightly over entire book.
Apply Mixed Media Sand Paste randomly to the top of composition book with circle stencil and palette knife, allow to dry. Spatter book with Everlasting and Black Chalkboard Paint using and old tooth brush. Allow it to dry.
Add random metals to top of the "Not Your Everyday" Composition Book to give it a bit more texture.
WOW....you have just transformed a boring composition book into and EXCITING MIXED MEDIA BOOK!!!!
I hope you have enjoyed my altered composition book project and try making one for yourself.
They would also be fun to do a few up as gifts.

Cheers!!!! with Xyron and Craftwell

How about a party with Xyron and Craftwell...every party needs a few party decorations.
SO....
I love to have some special items for my table as well as banners and other favors. Today I made a pretty “Cheers Frame”. I bought the frame from my local craft store to sit on your party table.

Begin by first painting the frame with chalk paint, allow to dry.
Adhere adhesive to pink paper using Xyron Creative Station.
Embossed adhesive pink paper with Craftwell So in Love Embossing Folder and the
Sand lightly with sanding block.
Die cut pattern paper using dies and Craftwell Cut N Boss Machine.
Add adhesive to die cuts by placing pieces through the Xyron Creative Station.

Cut 1" strips from embossed adhesive sheet, add to front of frame. Add die cut pieces to frame.
Make flowers from Craftwell A Best Girl's Friend Pocket Die Set. Add to front of frame with a black bow using Xyron Adhesive Permanent Dots.
Add die cut butterfly and metal key to front with Xyron Adhesive Permanent Dots
Add enamel dots.
I hope you try to make some pretty items for your party tables (maybe even a frame) using Xyron Creative Station and Craftwell products.

Desktop School Organizer with Craftwell and Xyron

Hi it is Pam today here on the Craftwell Blog !!!! It is hard to believe summer is over. Here in Memphis school is back in session, not sure about other parts of the country.  So with the celebration happening with the kids being back in school, I made a Desktop Organizer for the teacher using Craftwell Cut N' Boss and Xyron's Creative Station.
I began by cutting 3 canister set using the Sizzix Canister Die, mat board and Craftwell Cut N' Boss using the two "A" plates. Leave one box at the 4 1/2" height but cut the side pieces of the other 3 boxes to measure: 2 3/4", 2 1/4" and 1 1/2" in height. (you will only need to cut 3 boxes because on set will be used for two boxes.) Paint the inside of pieces with DecoArt Black Chalkboard Paint.
 Form boxes.
Die cut pattern paper using the Cut N' Boss, two "A" plates and the Sizzix Canister Die.
Place die cut pattern paper into Xyron Creative Station to apply adhesive. Add to larger canister sides.
Continue placing pattern paper in the Xyron Creative Station until you get all the canisters covered. (You will love how fast this is to do since the Xyron Creative Station is able to add adhesive in 9" and 5" sections.)
Die cut one of the images from 8" x 8" pattern paper....
it is nice to be able to place your nesting die on the piece of pattern paper exactly where you want it and then be able to run it through the Cut N' Boss.  The large platform makes this possible and you don't have to worry about cutting up the whole piece of paper. (HINT: tap die down with washi tape prior to placing in Cut N Boss)
Run the pieces through the Xyron Creative Station. Did you notice the magic of the Xyron Creative Station? All you do is flip up handle inside the machine and change the 9" adhesive to the 5" adhesive and keep applying adhesive. It is nice to be able to save on adhesive, don't you think?
Run the adhesive pattern paper through the Cut N' Boss.
Decorate sides of boxes with pattern paper that has been die cut with adhesive backing.
Add a metal frame along with some paper embellishments to the sides of your Desktop School Organizer.
Add a fun knob and some raffia ribbon.
Maybe a fun banner to celebrate "School Days"
and don't forget to fill the boxes with fun and yummy school items.
Remember this is a week long collaboration with Craftwell and Xyron so don't miss out a single project from the designers of both teams!!!! Hugs Pam

A Beautiful World ....Art with Heart

Art with Heart always creates A Beautiful World, don't you think?
I hope you have taken time to create a project and link it up on the Eileen's Inspiration Blog... HERE for the Art with Heart-Choose Your Own theme....Choose something Old and make it New!!!!
I began my "A Beautiful World" Plaque by first running Graphic 45 Botanicabella pattern paper through my "NEW" Xyron Creative Station!!! (FYI this is a must have in your studio!!! It not only uses 9" adhesive.....but it also uses 5"adhesive...so easy and quick to use)
Back to my project...once the adhesive is applied to the paper, place on plaque. Using stencil, palette knife and DecoArt Media White Gesso...apply to plaque and a piece of burlap. Allow both pieces to dry completely.
Change to the 5" Xyron Cartridge by lifting the lever...
Add Xyron Permanent Adhesive to Xyron Creative Station. Run both a piece of Graphic 45 Botanicabella pattern paper and dried burlap piece through the Xyron Creative Station.
Die cut the Sizzix Gardening Tool out of prepared paper and chipboard. Place adhesive pieces on chipboard pieces.
Ink Sizzix Gardening Tools with Walnut Stain and Salty Ocean Distress Ink.
Die cut one piece of Sizzix Watering Can out using chipboard and one piece with
Graphic 45 Botanicabella pattern paper.
Run the pattern pieces through the Xyron Creative Station apply to top of Watering Can. Decorate Watering Can with paper strips and embellishments. Add to front of A Beautiful World Plaque.
Add prepared Sizzix Gardening Tools to the front of plaque.
Die cut several of the Flower Layers with Heart Pedals from pattern paper, roll with stylus on flower mat. Layer together and place on plaque. Add metal gears in the centers.
Fussy cut butterflies, layer together on bottom of plaque. Layer a few together and place around the flowers. Add brown twine bow.
I hope you enjoyed my "A Beautiful World" Plaque and take time to make yourself or some one else something this week. REMEMBER to link you projects up to Art with Heart if you are using any of Eileen's Sizzix Dies.
